Cloud migration for Sydney businesses.
Planned, tested, and executed properly.

A cloud migration done badly means lost emails, broken applications, and a team that cannot work. CIO Tech plans and executes Azure and Microsoft 365 migrations in stages, with validation at every step. Your team keeps working while we move the infrastructure underneath them.

Four stages. Zero data loss.

Every CIO Tech migration follows a structured four-stage process. We do not rush it, because the cost of getting it wrong is always higher than the cost of doing it properly.

01

Assessment and planning

We audit your current environment: what you have, where it lives, what depends on what. Then we build a migration plan with timelines, dependencies, and a rollback strategy.

02

Pilot migration

We migrate a small group first. Typically 3 to 5 users. This lets us validate the process, catch integration issues, and refine the approach before rolling it out to the full team.

03

Full migration

The remaining users and data are migrated in batches, scheduled outside business hours where possible. Email, files, applications, and settings are moved and verified at each step.

04

Validation and handover

After migration, we run data validation checks to confirm everything moved completely. Your team gets training on the new environment, and we provide documentation for your records.

Email, files, servers, and applications

Every migration is different, but these are the most common workloads we move to the cloud for Sydney businesses.

Email migration

From on-premise Exchange, hosted email, Google Workspace, or another provider to Microsoft 365 Exchange Online. Mailboxes, calendars, contacts, and shared mailboxes all move across. MX records are cut over with minimal disruption.

File migration

From file servers, NAS devices, or Google Drive to SharePoint Online and OneDrive. Permissions are mapped, folder structures are preserved, and we validate that every file transferred completely.

Server migration to Azure

Physical or virtual servers moved to Azure Virtual Machines. Active Directory to Azure AD (Entra ID). We handle networking, DNS, and application compatibility testing so the transition is smooth.

Application migration

Line-of-business applications that currently run on local servers can often be moved to Azure VMs or replaced with cloud-native alternatives. We assess compatibility first and recommend the right approach.

Businesses that come to us for migration

Outgrowing on-premise

Your server is ageing, the warranty has expired, and replacing it costs more than moving to the cloud. A migration to Azure and M365 removes the hardware burden entirely.

Switching IT providers

Your current provider has your data on their infrastructure and the transition feels risky. CIO Tech has migrated dozens of businesses away from other providers. We manage the handover carefully.

Moving from Google to Microsoft

Google Workspace to Microsoft 365 is one of the most common migrations we do. Email, calendar, contacts, and Drive files all move across with full data validation.
